Prime Minister, Hun Sen, Tells the World that the Destiny of a Country should not be Determined by others.

Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, stated at the 76th United Nations General Assembly that each country should not be disrupted by sanctions imposed by any other country, or group, in violation of international law. The principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations (UN).

The Prime Minister of Cambodia stated that the world now has many problems to solve; including geopolitical rivalries, confrontations between superpowers, wars of technology and trade, armed conflicts, territorial disputes, terrorism and transnational crime, plus climate change, which is putting the peace and security situation of international communities under intense pressure.

He added that when these problems occur, some countries only use military means as a solution to determine the various governance systems. He said this is not the solution.

He added: "It has only led to many more deaths, human suffering and misery, as well as social and economic strife. Cambodia is the real life example and has experienced the worst tragedy; and sadly, we are now witnessing the repetition of the same policies."

Hun Sen stressed that he respects the wishes of each nation and their people’s rights to self- determination, which are of great value and that each country should not be disrupted due to unilateral sanctions, prohibitions or any other coercive economic measures that violate international law and the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.

The 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly is happening between 14th September 2021 and 27th September 2021.

From September 21st to 27th, the General Assembly will begin to discuss common issues around the world, with all UN member states being encouraged to make statements at the General Assembly. The heads of state and governments of more than 100 countries will hear these statements.
